To Barcelona for the Global Symposium

Olé! I recently returned from a wonderful experience in Barcelona, Spain joining my colleagues in luxury real estate at the Luxury Portfolio’s 2018 Global Symposium. What an adventure! There were 27 countries represented and I spent my time learning about how to better serve global clients as well as networking with international colleagues.

About Luxury Portfolio

Luxury Portfolio is a members-only global network of premier locally-branded companies dominated by many of the world's most powerful independent luxury brokerages. My brokerage, Michael Saunders & Company, is one of a mere few select brokerages in Florida to accepted into Luxury Portfolio.

The company marketed over 50,000 of the world's most remarkable homes last year and attracted over 3 million high-net-worth visitors by presenting a gallery of the finest luxury properties and brokerages worldwide, with properties in almost all U.S. states, over 70 countries, website visitors from over 200 countries/territories every month, site translation in nine languages, and conversion to multiple currencies. Suffice it to say, being a part of this exclusive group as a firm is amazing, but being a part of this symposium as an individual was an absolute gift.

Your Local Expert in Global Real Estate

The first evening in Barcelona, I sat down at my table with some of the best. With 27 of the 70 affiliated countries represented at the symposium, my tablemates were licensees from New Zealand, the Cayman Islands, and NYC.

The city was postively inspiring, an amazing collection of old-world and new-world art all over. It was an amazing setting to learn about cultural differences and sensitivity of working with global clientele. I spent a lot of my time getting to know my peers and colleagues in other key theater markets, since many of my clients (as well as myself!) enjoy The Art of Living. Consequently, I will be well-equipped to help connect Sarasotans with international agents that share our love for the arts.

Sights, Sounds & Flavors of Barcelona

I loved walking through this city, with so much to look at and so much art literally carved into the landscape everywhere you look. Like these amazing sculptures, seen of the outside of downtown Barcelona buildings:

Modern art was on display in the public areas as well, like these two enormous contemporary structures:

And I can’t begin to describe how delicious all the food was. Throughout my week in Barcelona, I enjoyed a wide variety of succulent dishes and exquisite meals, as well as fresh markets all over town.

Although it is impossible to get the true essence of any city in such short a time, I did my best to really experience Barcelona while I was there.

I am here to help — home or away.

I was delighted to help represent Michael Saunders & Company with Michael Saunders herself at this symposium. Keep in mind that while we are a local firm, we have contacts, affiliates, networks, and trusted colleagues across the globe, so if you are contemplating purchasing a second property abroad or leaving Sarasota, we can help connect you with a stellar agent anywhere in the world.
